2016 Chevrolet Camaro Supercharged 630 By Geiger Cars
Finding tuning programs for cars like the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro are easy in the U.S. You can actually find one pretty much wherever you go here. But it’s a different thing over in Europe. There aren’t that many tuners across the Atlantic that build kits for cars like the Chevrolet Camaro, let alone specialize in them. Fortunately though, Geiger Cars happens to be one of the few, and its latest aftermarket offering for the Chevy muscle car is as good an option to have for Camaro owners over there. You might even say that it’s better than most of what we can get here.
Don’t laugh because it’s true, or at least a part of it is true. Despite hailing from Germany, Geiger Cars has earned a reputation for being a masterclass tuner for American sports cars. It’s done kits for the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Charger, and yes, even the Camaro. This new program follows in that path with a comprehensive list of upgrades to the exterior, interior, engine, and suspension of the muscle car. It even includes a new set of wheels, which in itself is a highlight of any Geiger Cars program.
We can minimize the abilities of Geiger Cars all we want knowing what options we have here at our disposal. But make no mistake, the German tuner has been in this business for a long time and it’s regarded as an authority when it comes to developing aftermarket programs for American performance cars. That’s a reputation Geiger Cars earned for all the years it’s been hustling in the European tuning scene.Exterior
Not one likes to lose out on an opportunity to dress up a Chevrolet Camaro, so Geiger Cars is offering an aggressive aerodynamic body kit for the muscle car. The front section, in particular, looks noticeably more menacing, thanks in large part to a large front spoiler that extends significantly further out than the actual nose of the car. Sporty splitters have also been added into the spoiler and up top, the air scoops on the Camaro’s hood provide modifications of the cosmetic and technical varieties. Side skirts just below the car’s doors, a new rear spoiler, and a rear valance with a diffuser finish off the aero upgrades on the Chevy muscle car.
Rounding out the exterior upgrades is a new set of 21-inch Superturismo Dakar alloy wheels from OZ Racing. The 15-spoke wheels are finished in Matt Graphite paint and are wrapped in a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
Interior
There’s not much to go by here, but at least Geiger Cars did a few things to the Camaro’s cabin, including dressing it up in a special leather interior and adding a sliding sunroof. That’s more than what you can say for what other tuners have done when it comes to a car’s cabin.

The lack of any meaningful interior upgrades aside, the German tuner did do its homework in giving the Camaro’s 6.2-liter V-8 engine an upgrade that’s worthy of getting noticed. The biggest and most important element of this upgrade is the new supercharger unit, which combines with a new oil cooler system and an ECU upgrade. All together, the result is a new output of 630 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. That’s good enough to propel the Camaro from an idle position to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds to go with a top speed of 190 mph. A flap sports exhaust system helps produce a throatier sound from the engine, which is a good thing for owners who want to squeeze out everything they can out of the modified V-8.
Suspension

Upgrades to the suspension mainly involve a KW-Variant 1 coilover suspension. Not only does this addition help improve the Camaro’s handling – a must considering the upgrades to the engine – it also keeps the muscle car firmly attached to the ground when it’s going full blast on the open road.

FORD MUSTANG BY FORD PERFORMANCE AND ROUSH PERFORMANCE
Ford Mustang TrakPak By Roush Performance
It’s a foregone conclusion that any program for the Chevrolet Camaro will draw comparisons to a tuning kit for the Ford Mustang. It just so happens that we have a lot of those too since the Mustang is also a popular aftermarket choice. This particular take on the Ford muscle car comes by way of Ford Performance and Roush Performance, and among its many highlights is a supercharger kit that brings the output of the car’s 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 engine to 600 horsepower, a significant improvement of 165 ponies over the car’s standard numbers. The result is a Mustang that can sprint from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds to go with a top speed of 155 mph. It’s not the most overblown Mustang program you’ll see, but considering who developed it, the mention is understandable.

Since we are talking about a Camaro program built by Geiger Cars, it’s only fair that we shine the spotlight on the same tuner and its own kit for the Ford Mustang Ford Mustang . This one was only developed in April 2016 so it’s still relatively fresh. That’s another thing it has going for it. Apart from that, it’s also a mammoth of an upgrade, one that includes a 2.9-liter supercharger, a new crankshaft, forged pistons, steel connecting rods, a cold air intake system, and a stainless steel sports exhaust system. In the end, Geiger Cars was able to coax an insane 820 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque out of the ‘Stang’s Coyote V-8. You don’t need to be good at math to know that an 820-horsepower Mustang is absolutely mental.
